MILES JAY -producer, arranger, orchestration, bass and other instruments on the EMGA project.

Miles is an American musician and producer, internationally  recognized for his abilities in expressing Arabic musical traditions on the Double Bass.  Miles has taken the helm at producing and arranging Essential Music Genres in Arabic music CD, bringing together his vast experience in Western and Arabic music and bringing together talented musicians, he has known and worked with over the years, to contribute to this project.

Since receiving his BA in ethno-musicology from the University of California, Miles lived nearly 6 years in Cairo and Beirut. His strong foundation in Jazz and Classical music, combined with his love of Arabic music, enables Miles to perform and record with many of the region’s most beloved musicians. Miles has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Emirates Palace, and the United Nations, with artists Youssou N’Dour,  Ziad Rahbani, Naseer Shamma, the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Ross Daly, Trygve Seim, Fathy Salama, Azam Ali, The Alexandria Chamber Orchestra, and Dr. Ali Jihad Racy.
